Wedding details shots

So you spend days, weeks and months looking for the perfect cake, invitations, favours for guests, amazing florals that will fit the theme of your wedding. Things have to be the perfect colour and even shade!

I love all these details and I love how much difference they make to the wedding. That’s why I love finding these details on your big day. Then all those little choices can be cherished in the years to come

A ROMANTIC MOORLAND WEDDING

Capturing all the drama and romance of a Yorkshire which inspired the Brontës is no easy task, but a lovingly restored stone barn just a few miles from the iconic Ilkley Moor seemed a great place to start.

Throughout the day, we explored some beautiful contrasts: The romantic softness of roses set against jagged crags, the crisp lines of the dress cutting across the haze of a distant landscape, the natural dusty pinks juxtaposed with striking metallic touches.

So many opposites but then they do say that opposites attract…Enjoy!

VENUE

On the edge of Otley Chevin, THE CHILLI BARN, is a gem of rustic elegance. It has an intimate feel while the high beamed ceilings and modern white interior give a sense of space and airiness.

Surrounded by meadows and forest with moorland and crags nearby, it provided multiple breath-taking backdrops. And what lovely people!

STYLING

Each gorgeous detail of the styling by Bex at OAKLEAF WEDDINGS AND EVENTS thrilled my heart. The tableware from WHITEHOUSE CROCKERY included elegant glass plates with a simple beaded edge while the real statement was the silverware in a warm gold. The wire art hearts and words from BUTTERSCOTCH FOX added another stylish metallic highlight.

PHOTOGRAPHY

On most styled shoots, the Bride and Groom are models, so it was great to work with Marta and Scott. They agreed to take part in the shoot as part of their 1st Wedding Anniversary celebrations and it was a joy to capture the intimacy between them. For me, the pinnacle of the day (geographically and artistically) was the moorland where the elegance of the day met the majesty of nature.

FLOWERS

Jason from COCOA AND BLOOM arrived with armfuls of David Austin roses in dusty pinks bringing both a rich romance and a divine fragrance to the day. The delicate ferns and sprays of aromatic eucalyptus (I just love eucalyptus) mirrored the stationary and gave each arrangement an ethereal beauty. Meanwhile in the exquisite bouquet, the genista (and the occasional cheeky thistle) hinted at the romantic moorland theme.

STATIONERY

It’s rare to find an artist where every single piece of their work fills you with delight, but that is what I’ve found in GRAY STARLING DESIGNS. I’m always left gazing at their stationary with a deep and satisfied feeling of “Yes! That’s exactly right!” Here the combination of feather-light florals with illuminating, metallic detailing brought an opulent yet natural elegance to the tablescape.

CAKE

When it came to the cake, Gayle, from WHERE THE RIBBON ENDS, created a masterpiece. Beautiful roses and ferns rested gently against a backdrop of mottled dusty pink and gold leaf. The crisp white of the upper tiers recalled the simple elegance of dress itself while the intricate folding roses of the base were just sheer artistry.

Did I mention her cakes are also delicious?

HAIR AND MAKEUP

Nicola created all the looks on the day and she was truly amazing! The makeup perfectly complimented the rose tones of the theme. Hair was kept simple and soft, to get those curls drifting romantically in the breeze of the moorland. The hair accessories by Lisa from THE BOBBY PIN were a sparkling evocation of the delicate florals adorning the stationery.

LIGHTING

Lighting features were by the very talented Steph from LUMINEST LTD. Twinkling fairy-lit arches, fun neon installations and lots of stylish outdoor options for when the sun sets on that special day. What more can I say?

Ben and Megan

Fine Art Wedding Photography

These stunning wedding portraits were taken at The Coniston Hotel in Skipton.

The venue was the most beautiful backdrop for Megan and Ben. From the charming boathouse to the jetty, the venue’s charm was the most romantic place we could have asked for.

Megan wore not one but two dresses (!) that beautifully complemented her stunning figure (and I am not jealous at all).

Join me in admiring their beautiful portraits!

Engagement Session

These guys made me work hard! First walking through a field full of sheep (all I could think about was sheep trying to eat my camera), then jumping through the river and finally climbing on rocks to take this perfect champagne shot...

This was definitely one of the funniest shoots ever, we even had the Dart Vader helmet with us. Here is a sneak peak of their session.

Sheffield Wedding Photographer

Andrew and Renata’s Wedding

Andrew and Renata’s Wedding day at The Sitwell Arms Hotel in Sheffield was beautiful.

Renata chose Living Coral as the colour for their wedding, the PANTONE colour of 2019, and the

amazing flowers were by Out of the Bloom.

Andrew and Renata were definitely my kind of Bride and Groom as they sneaked out after the

wedding breakfast, driving with me to a nearby meadow for some spectacular wedding portraits.

It was a pleasure to photograph their big day as it was filled with love, laughter and family.

And as for that stunning first dance…well take a look for yourself!
